A new actuation system has been designed for safe and reliable power-driven adjustment and positioning of beds in hospitals, clinics and rehabilitation and home-care settings. System components for the SKF MediMove are modular in design for customization as required in a specific application. The SKF MediMove system’s product range includes specialized actuators, recliners and control units and panels. They can be integrated easily into standard and platform beds for precise, safe and secure movement, positioning and control. Once installed and in service, the system is said to be quiet and maintenance free. Capabilities include variable height adjustment, adjustable back-rest with CPR function, special positioning with auto-contour function for comfortable sitting, and adjustable elevation of legs. Electrical control is achieved with handsets, bilateral pedals, and selective function limiters. SKF MOTION TECHNOLOGIES, Bethlehem, PA. (800) 541-3624.
