DC Brush Drive Provides Distributed Motion Control
Oct. 8, 2008
Accommodating network connectivity via CANbus or serial port, the latest ION dc brush drive comes in a fully enclosed module and supports dc brush, brushless dc, and micro-stepping motors. Based on the company's Magellan motion processor, the module provides distributed control in either an asynchronous serial network (RS-485) version or a CANbus version. Multiple modules, up to 127, are deployable on a single network. Other features include a peak output current of 15A, an output power of 500W at 56V, hardware-performance trace, on-the-fly profile changes, and PLC-type inputs and outputs.
