Debuting as a low-profile, thermally efficient transfer mold module providing highly flexible speed control of small tri-phase motors, the DIP-CIB employs a standard converter inverter brake (CIB) structure without built-in gate drive and protection functions. Available in either 600V or 1.2 kV versions, the 5.7-mm thick module is a suitable building block for 220V and 460V drives. The module also features a carrier stored trench gate bipolar transistor (CSTBT) chip, which claims to promote very low losses, and an NTC thermistor for over-temperature protection. Additionally, it is fully lead-free and RoHS compliant. Depending on the rating, price ranges from $21.50 to $35 each. POWEREX INC., Youngwood, PA. (800) 451-1415.
