Mounting to asynchronous motors and delivering from 1 to 10,000 ppr in an industry-standard, 60-mm housing, the VFS 60 motor feedback systems, also called hollow-shaft encoders, employ the company’s F technology, which features a unique nickel code disc to provide more robust operation and tolerance to temperatures as high as 100ºC. The encoders are IP65 rated and are available with a TTL or HTL interface. Ball bearings supporting the encoder shaft are spaced 30-mm apart for a concentricity of ±0.3 mm and ± 0.1 mm radial and ± 0.5 mm and ±0.2 mm axial. Additionally, a radial/axial cable outlet reduces installation depth by up to 28% and allows a single encoder type to be used for various applications. SICK STEGMANN INC., Dayton, OH.
