Promising to improve power consumption, noise immunity, and transient voltage performance in automotive applications, the FAN708x series gate drivers allegedly can also increase fuel efficiency by enabling engineers to develop more accurate and precise fuel injection control systems under all operating conditions. The devices drive MOSFETs and IGBTs in high-side and bridge-driver applications such as direct fuel injection systems and motor controls. They specify a quiescent power consumption of 100 µA and boast the industry's highest transient voltage performance at double that of comparable devices. Prices for the FAN7080, FAN7081, FAN7083, and FAN7085 are $0.81, $0.73, $0.85, and $0.93 each/1,000, respectively. For further information, call FAIRCHILD SEMICONDUCTOR, San Jose, CA.
