Promising high resolution at a low cost, the AMT303 series encoder generates standard U/V/W commutation signals for vectoring current to brushless motors. Resolutions are set via the component’s SPI and the commutation output supports brushless motors with two, four, six, eight, or 10 pole pairs, also selectable via the SPI. The encoder offers supplementary incremental A, B, and Z channels for various servo positioning and startup sequences. Other options include nine mounting patterns and ten bore sizes, creating a flexible platform that is able to mate with many industry-standard motors. The AMT303 and AMT303 demo are available now with prices starting at $46 each. CUI INC., Tualatin, OR. (800) 275-4899.
