Supporting the latest Serial ATA (SATA) hard-disk drive interface, the company’s 22-position, vertical-backplane receptacle connectors offer options for through-hole solder, press fit, or surface-mount terminations. The connectors employ staggered contact lengths for sequential mating to enable hot plugging, and molded guideposts provide angled lead-in to compensate for connector misalignment. The backplane receptacles accept SATA drives, but are keyed to block the installation of a Serial-Attached SCSI drive. Other features include stamped retention clips that provide additional mechanical strength and fifteen contacts that provide options for operating voltages of 3.3V, 5V, or 12V. Typical prices range from $0.28 to $0.38 each/1,000. FCI USA INC., Etters, PA. (800) 237-2374.
