The OGN-SMD fuseblock series comes with 5- by 20-mm fuses preloaded with an optional cover. In surface-mount applications, this prepackaging speeds pick-and-place assembly by eliminating the need for mounting the block, fuse, and cover in separate steps. Instead, the OGN-SMD can be assembled in one operation.

What makes this innovation possible is the use of heat-resistant UL 94 V-0 plastic, which enables the fuseblock to withstand the heat of vapor-phase and reflow soldering. In the past, the plastics applied in fuseblock housings lacked the durability to survive such high temperatures.

Fully approved by UL, CSA, and VDE, the OGN-SMD is available with the quick-acting, time-lag, and super time-lag fuses in ratings of 50 mA to 10 A. Pricing starts at $0.793 each per 800 units with three- to four-week delivery.
