A toploading version of the 12R2 rugged-PCI COTS chassis offers durability, shock isolation, and performance in a 9U by 25-in. deep unit. The chassis includes a front-accessible, shock-isolated drive bay with options for four 5.25-in. hard drives and two 3.5-in. devices. Quad 120-mm fans provide front-to-rear airflow in a push-pull arrangement. The unit includes voltage, overtemperature, and fan-fail monitoring with front-panel LED indicators. The 500-W switching power supply meets military standards. Additional features include a removable air filter on the front panel and a removable real patch panel with configurable I/O. Pricing for the toploading 12R2 starts at approximately $5000 with a lead time of 10 to 12 weeks.
