Connecting commercial aircraft networks to 100 Base-T and 1000 Base-TX, the ARINC Size 8 Quadrax multi-signal contact system employs two differential pairs for use with quad-axial cables in ARINC 600, 664, and 763 data-bus applications. The system consists of a four-contact connector in a size 8 shell with PCB-mount pins or crimp-style pin and socket terminations. It relies on a unique one-piece dielectric design that promises to significantly simplify the termination process. The contact includes four 24 AWG, screw-machined contacts, crimppable with standard tools. A front-release/front-removable PCB-mount contact for ARINC 600 receptacle connectors and rear-release/rear-removal crimp contact for ARINC 600 plugs are available. A solder contact version is also available. In addition to commercial avionics, the system can be used in military networking and communications, as well as Gigabit Ethernet IEEE 802.3Z and Fibre Channel XT11.2.
