Supporting the next-generation interface for consumer electronics, such as digital televisions, DVD players, and set-top boxes, the company's high-definition multimedia interface (HDMI) employs a small connector that carries up to 5 Gb/s of uncompressed video and audio in one cable. The 19-position, surface-mount receptacle is also available with a panel-mount flange. Employing gold plating in the contact area, the connector is rated for 10,000 mating cycles and complies with RoHS (lead-free) requirements.
