The company's surface-mount, card-edge connectors enable implementation of the Micro-TCA standard via a dual-row, 170-position interface on 0.75-mm pitch, allowing any standard AdvancedMC card to directly interface with a µTCA backplane. The connectors feature an optimized PCB footprint and will support differential signaling at data rates of 12.5 Gb/s per lane, reportedly with very low loss and crosstalk. The use of surface-mount termination also eliminates the need for numerous through holes for connector leads, which both simplifies and provides better flexibility in routing PCB traces. Metal retention clips at the connector ends offer more mechanical strength after soldering. Additionally, the MicroTCA connectors are lead-free and RoHS-compliant. Pricing starts at $7.50 each with a lead-time from stock to six weeks. FCI USA INC., Etters, PA. (800) 237-2374
