The UltraJax, essentially an RJ-45 connector, houses contact assemblies in both the top and bottom of its body, making one connector capable of performing the functions of two. Claimed by the company as a major innovation in RJ connectivity, the component will double port counts of hubs, switches, routers, and adapter cards while consuming less than half the space of a standard RJ-45 connector. In telephone applications, it provides double the connections to handsets, wall plates, and patch panels. As a further example, one UltraJax connector in a two-line phone will do what two connectors are currently required to do. Additionally, the UltraJax supports emerging 10-GB UTP applications.
