Expanding the AirMax VS connector family is a low profile, three-pair connector that contains fewer pins per column than other members of the family and has a slot spacing of 16.7 mm. The smaller slot spacing creates an open box that allows more airflow and cools the system. Similar to its predecessors, the three-pair component uses air as the dielectric between adjacent conductors, providing high signal density while exhibiting what is said to be the industry’s lowest insertion loss and lowest cross talk without the use of metal shields. Combining EMI optimization with the use of air as a dielectric, users can freely mix differential-pair, single-ended signals and power in one connector. Pricing typically starts at $0.10 per signal line. FCI, Etters, PA. (800) 237-2374.
