Addressing the ExpressCard product specification, developed as the next-generation PC card, the company's connector is described as a beam-on-blade design that promises low-cost and reliable performance. Basically, it's a system that includes a 26-position card connector and a surface-mount, 26-position, right-angle, host connector. The connector system has a life span of 10,000 mating cycles on the card and 5,000 cycles on the host. The connector is compliant to the current specification Revision 1.0 of the Express Card Standard. The Express Card host interface supports a PCI Express single lane (x1) operating at 2.5 Gb/s and low, full, and high-speed USB as per the USB 2.0 specification.
