The AirMax VS shieldless high-speed connector system is now available with 3 mm column spacing. The connector employs an insert molded leadframe assembly (IMLA) design and is said to exhibit excellent signal integrity at speeds from 2.5 to 6.25 Gb/s and allows customers to scale systems to greater than 12 Gb/s without requiring a basic platform design. Configured as edge-coupled differential pairs, the connector features insertion losses of 0.7 dB (max.) through 6.25 Gb/s and 2.0 dB (max.) through 20.0 Gb/s, with impedance of 100W (±8W). In the single-ended configuration, the connector features insertion losses of 2.0 dB (max.) through 6.25 Gb/s with impedance of 60W. The two-piece header-receptacle system is available in a 150-position configuration for 1.0"/25 mm slot pitch applications. Volume pricing is under $0.08 per header/receptacle pair.
