A new line of fiber optic EMI shielding adapters limits EMI emissions from front panel equipment. Developed to address the requirements of mechanical designers, the adapters increase shielding effectiveness to more than -50 dB at 4 GHz. Their patented shutter system provides dust protection and eye safety features. These EMI adapters, constructed of die-cast bodies with an EMI gasket that seals the adapter to the panel, find use in telecommunications and datacommunications front panel applications and test equipment. Two mounting orientations are available: the traditional straight orientation that meets industry standard mounting dimensions, and a 45° angled orientation that allows for a lower cable exit profile with a unique cutout for each adapter. Both screw and snap mounting styles are available. The EMI adapter product line also includes SC, LC and MPO styles. LC adapters are available in duplex configurations, while SC and MPO adapters are available in simplex configurations. MPO adapters are also available in quad configurations. Pricing for the EMI adapters varies according to type and quantity. For example, an LC duplex adapter costs $12.94 each in quantities up to 999.
