Well suited for applications requiring LCD lamination, Insulcast RTVS 927 low viscosity transparent silicone gel is supplied in a kit with a 1:1 mix ratio by weight or volume. Using less curing agent results in a softer gel. The cured gel provides excellent mechanical cushioning and vibration damping for delicate electronic assemblies. The transparency allows visual inspection for easy identification and repair of encapsulated parts. Characteristics are 4.5-mm penetration; a 1.41 refractive index; 0.10 thermal conductivity; -55° to 204° C service temperature; 500 V/mil dielectric strength; and 1 X 1015 ohms/cm volume resistivity.
