Designed for use with work pieces that are sensitive to electrostatic discharge (ESD), these new assembly tools have housings that are electrically conductive (103 ohms). Any static charge present on the tool or operators hand is conducted away from the work. The tool family includes torque-controlled electric screwdrivers, screw presenters, and tape presenters. For other sensitive assembly applications, clean room torque-controlled electric screwdrivers, screw dispensers, shock-absorbing screwdrivers, and slow start screwdriver controls to prevent cross threading of screws are available.
