Thermally-Conductive Tapes Attach Sinks To Spreaders

March 1, 2003
In addition to increased mechanical strength for securely attaching heatsinks to heat spreaders, this new line of thermally-conductive adhesive transfer tapes also features improved surface wet-out for lower thermal impedance and higher adhesion.

In addition to increased mechanical strength for securely attaching heatsinks to heat spreaders, this new line of thermally-conductive adhesive transfer tapes also features improved surface wet-out for lower thermal impedance and higher adhesion. Further, the adhesive is designed to withstand shock while its high dielectric strength provides electrical isolation. The 8805, 8810, 8815 and 8820 tapes are available in 5, 10, 15 and 20-mil thicknesses, respectively, and can be supplied die-cut to user's specs. 3M ELECTRONIC ADHESIVES AND SPECIALTIES DEPT., St. Paul, MN.
