Supporting a 10-GHz bandwidth, the SS-BGA324K-01 socket accommodates BGA ICs with a 0.5-mm pitch and can dissipate up to 7W without a heatsink or up to 60W with a custom heatsink. The component can survive upwards of 500,000 actuations. Features #937; include a typical contact resistance of 80 mO per ball, pin inductance of 1.3 nH and a mutual inductance of 0.15 nH, capacitance to ground of 0.53 pF, pin-to-pin capacitance of 0.045 pF, and an operating-temperature range from -40°C to 150°C. Additionally, the socket footprint requires just a 2.5-mm border, reportedly the smallest available. Single-unit price is $1,888. IRONWOOD ELECTRONICS, Eagan, MN. (800) 404-0204.
