Automotive Connector Thwarts Handling Problems

June 23, 2011
Designed for fail-safe connections in automotive safety-restraint systems, the Squib right-angle AK-2 cable assemblies eliminate connector snagging on internal vehicle holes, wires, and the seatbelt harness assembly.

Designed for fail-safe connections in automotive safety-restraint systems, the Squib right-angle AK-2 cable assemblies eliminate connector snagging on internal vehicle holes, wires, and the seatbelt harness assembly. An integrated, high-blocking force connector-position-assurance button design provides reliable one-step connector mating and prevents premature locking prior to mating. The manually-serviceable button is easily gripped between two fingers and pulled back into a pre-lock position with no tools necessary. The welded-cable connection promises to enhance electrical performance while maintaining low, stable contact resistance under extreme temperatures and vibration conditions. MOLEX INC., Lisle, IL.
