Molex initiates several developments to bolster its commitment to developing interconnect technologies for next-gen medical devices. The latest developments include the MediSpec Hybrid Circular MT Cable and Receptacle System, an integrated optical and electrical solution that reduces the number of connectors required in medical equipment and devices via a proprietary low-force helix (LFH) contact design. As per Molex, the system provides a high-performance and affordable alternative to typical medical circular connectors. Next, MediSpec Molded Interconnect Device/Laser Direct Structuring (MID/LDS) capabilities combine the versatility of the two-shot molding process and the speed and precision of LDS capabilities. This helps designers integrate complex electrical and mechanical features into highly compact applications. Mini-Fit Plus High-Mating Cycle (HMC) boosts durability and current per circuit for mid-range power applications without increasing design dimensions. Also, additions to the company’s fiber-optic and copper flexible circuit products are on tap. MOLEX INC., Lisle, IL. (800) 786-6539.
