Miniature DIP, DC/DC, Constant Current LED Drivers
Available now from MicroPower Direct, the LDM12-xx series is a family of miniature, DC/DC LED drivers specifically designed to power/control high brightness LEDs. These units feature a constant current output; analog & PWM dimming control; high efficiency and a very small footprint.
Six models operate from a wide 7 to 16 VDC input and provide constant current outputs of 300 mA, 350 mA, 500 mA, 600 mA, 700 mA or 1,000 mA. The step down DC/DC design allows them to drive LED strings up to 14 VDC. Standard features include 93% efficiency, short circuit protection, and an analog or PWM dimming control input. The MTBF (per MIL HDBK 217F) of the LDM12-xx series is greater than 3.3 Mhours.
All models of the LDM12-xx family are packaged in a miniature DIP case that's only 0.50 x 0.40 x 0.27 inches. They are specified for operation over the industrial operating temperature range of -40°C to +85°C ambient with no derating or heat sinking required. Cooling is by free-air convection.
