The OARS-XP Series surface mount current sense resistor from TT electronics' IRC Wirewound and Film Technologies Division has extended power ratings.

The OARS-XP Series surface mount current sense resistors from TT electronics' IRC Wirewound and Film Technologies Division have extended power ratings. The open-air, flameproof devices feature a unique form factor that provides compliant terminations to better handle TCE mismatch between the device and the pc board.

The ‘XP’ designation on the product name refers to the wider metal element that enables the device to handle higher current. Applications for the resistors include surge and pulse circuits and current sensing and feedback.

Resistance value for the resistor ranges from 2 mW to 50 mW, with tolerances down to ±1%. Inductance values are less than 10 nH. IRC will also produce devices outside these specifications to meet customer requirements. Lead-free RoHS-compliant and 0-W jumper versions are also available. Contact IRC for pricing and availability.
