The Madison Cable brand of custom industrial and factory automation cable products from Tyco Electronics has been expanded to include offerings for power and data applications. The technologies used in construction include techniques to obtain superior flex and continuous-flex properties as well as the latest jacketing, shielding and conductivity technology. Custom designs that integrate these advances are available.
The new power cable designs integrate the latest in materials that withstand many harsh chemicals and are able to conform to the sharp bend radii in wiring compartments. Additionally, new advances in finely stranded bare copper conductors have been included in new continuous-flex cable designs to improve flexibility properties.
Encoder cables have seen improvements in electrical properties, noise emissions and abrasion & chemical resistance while communication cables have also been improved with advances in materials and construction.
Addressing industry-driven trends towards higher abrasion and chemical resistance, the cable designs often include the latest cable jacket formulations that include polyurethane, FEP and TEP. In addition, where the ultimate in insulation technology is required, FEP and Hytrel thermoplastic polyester elastomers are used.
Additionally, cable constructions combining fiberoptic, coax, DVI and other media are available. Furthermore, special strength members, LVDS and Category components can be included. For EMI/RFI mitigation, braiding, spiraling and foil-lined components can be used. For more information on MADISON CABLE products, contact Tyco.
