The Ancrona AL76253 series transformers are exactly matched to the MAX253 dc-dc converter designed to generate electrically isolated supply voltages for RS-232 and RS-485 interfaces and other applications. Since such interfaces are increasingly used in medical instruments, Ancrona now offers the AL76253/35KV6 with an isolation voltage of 6000 V.

In systems with an operating voltage of 3.3 V with the AL762533/35KV6 the MAX253 delivers an output voltage of 5 V, with a maximum current of 100 mA. Higher output voltages can be obtained with multiplying rectifier circuits. Low coupling capacitance (8 pF max.) low stray inductance (5 µH max.) and low-EMI toroidal design are additional features.
