A series of low-profile, 0.5-W surface mount chip resistors from HDK-America is capable of handling up to 1500 V. Designated the HCR50, it is based on a ceramic substrate, and is available in resistance values ranging from 3 MΩ to 16 MΩ.

The HCR50 matches up to a 2010 case code, with a footprint of 5.0 mm x 2.5 mm, and a height of 0.5 mm. It is available in standard tolerances of 5%(J), 10%(K) or 20%(M), and offers voltage isolation up to 500 V. Its temperature coefficient of resistance (TCR) is +200 ppm/°C over the operating range of -55 °C to +125 °C.

Samples of the HCR50 High Voltage Chip Resistor are available immediately. Production quantities can also be ordered.
