AVX Corporation has expanded its switch mode power supply (SMPS) capacitor series to include RoHS-compliant versions. Utilizing state-of-the-art base metal electrode (BME) technology and unique vertically stacked construction, the RoHS-compliant TurboCap™ Series combines high CV values and high current-carrying capacity with low ESR / ESL characteristics to provide excellent high-frequency performance. The TurboCap Series' deliveries excellent mechanical performance due to time tested lead technology. These rugged devices have a high tolerance to vibration and board flexure.

The RoHS-compliant TurboCap Series capacitors are available in an X7R dielectric and feature a voltage range of 50V to 100V with a capacitance value up to 220µF. The stacked capacitors are ideal for high-frequency input/output filters, high-efficiency converters, DC/DC converters, hybrid vehicles, military/COTS Plus power supplies, medical electronics equipment, industrial equipment, telecom and alternate energy applications.

The expanded TurboCap Series capacitors are assembled using AVX's industry proven lead frame technology, which places the ceramic up off the board and dramatically reduces cracking issues as well as susceptibility to shock and vibrations. In addition to the RoHS-compliant versions, the advanced TurboCap Series is also available in standard lead-tin termination versions.

Delivery is 10-12 weeks after receipt of order depending on technical value and order quantity.
