Vishay Intertechnology, Inc. has enhanced its MC AT professional and precision series of automotive thin film chip resistors in standard case sizes from 0402 to 1206. Designed to deliver stable performance under harsh environmental conditions in automotive and industrial applications, the Vishay Beyschlag devices now offer lower TCR down to ± 10 ppm/K and a wider range of resistance values from 1 ohm to 1 Mohm.
The enhanced MC AT professional resistors combine high-temperature performance to +175 °C with a new extended resistance range of 1 ohm to 1 Mohm. Precision series devices now offer resistance values of 47 ohm to 1 Mohm with tolerances down to ± 0.1 %, and lower TCR down to ± 10 ppm/K. The professional and precision series resistors provide a high power rating of 400 mW at +85 °C and +70 °C, respectively, in the 1206 case size.
With an excellent moisture and sulfur resistivity, operating voltages from 50 V to 200 V, and 2000 V ESD capability, all MC AT devices are optimized to provide highly reliable performance in harsh environments. Typical applications will include engine control units, climate control, braking systems, power supplies, lighting, and sensors in automotives; telecom base stations; and industrial and medical measurement equipment.
The MC AT resistors are AEC-Q200-qualified and approved to EN 140401-801. Suitable for processing on automatic SMD assembly systems, the devices are RoHS-compliant and compatible with lead (Pb)-free and tin/lead (Sn/Pb) reflow and vapor-phase soldering processes.
Samples and production quantities of the new resistors are available now, with lead times of five weeks for larger orders. Pricing for U.S. delivery varies by case size, TCR, tolerance, resistance value, and quantity ordered. For example, the MCT 0603 AT with a TCR of ± 25 ppm/K and tolerance of 0.1 % starts at about $0.05 per piece in medium volumes.
