\[July 20, 2006\] For demanding applications, the MHP series 50W power resistor employs high-stability film resistance elements and a non-inductive design. Housed in a TO-220 package, the resistance element is isolated from the copper mounting tab by an alumina ceramic layer that provides a dielectric withstanding voltage of 2 kVdc. This construction ensures a high insulation resistance between the terminals and the tab and a very low thermal resistance. With a resistance range from 10 mΩ to 220Ω and standard tolerances of ±1% and ±5%, typical inductance is less than 50 nH. TCRs range from 50 ppm/°C to 250 ppm/°C and thermal resistance is 2.3°C/W. Other features include a maximum operating voltage of 500V and an operating temperature range from -55°C to +155°C. Price is $1.80 each/1,000. TT ELECTRONICS PLC, Corpus Christi, TX. (361) 992-7900.
