Measuring just 0.495" x 0.575" and 0.28" in height, the CST502 series current-sense transformers promise space savings in dc/dc converter applications. They provide a closed magnetic field via a toroidal construction, which is also said to yield low EMI. Available turns ratios include 1:1:50, 100, and 200, and the transformers are rated for operating currents up to 15A. Other features include stable performance with minimum drift across an operating temperature range of –40°C to +130°C, operating frequency range from 50 to 500 kHz, and a pick-and-place header.
