Wirewound Resistor Integrates Thermal Fuse

The RWT series CSA and UL approved wirewound resistors consist of a standard 5W wirewound element and 142°C, 2A thermal fuse in a standard vertical-mount ceramic case. Essentially, the component is a 2W resistor that also behaves as a slow-blow resettable fuse. Once the power dissipation through the part causes the heat generated to exceed 142°C, the part opens and stops the current flow. After the circuit cools down, the part returns to its original state. The wirewound package measures 25 mm x 13 mm x 9.5 mm and is available in E24 resistance values from 1Ω to 100Ω and in 5% resistance tolerances.
