Based on a wrap-and-fill configuration and made using metallized polyphenylene sulfide (PPS), epoxy end seals and tinned copper terminations, Minifilm capacitors are said to offer only negligible capacitance shift under extended exposure to humidity, life and temperature cycling, as well as exhibiting long term stability. Targeting low loss, tight tolerance applications, the new SMT film capacitors measure 3.6 mm x 8.0 mm x 2.3 mm, come in tolerances of 1%, 2% and 5%, temperature coefficient of ±100 ppm, capacitance values from 0.047 to 0.22 µF, and continuous operating temperatures as high as 125°C. Standard voltage is 50 Vdc. And Minifilm PPS caps can withstand solder reflow temperatures to 260°C. Pricing starts at $0.95 to $1.50 each, depending on tolerance and quantity ordered.
