The latest multilayer ceramic chip capacitor (MLCC) hailing from TDK Corp. can withstand a rated ac voltage of 500 VRMS for 60 seconds and 600 VRMSfor three seconds. Rated dc voltage is 630 V. On top of the improved ac withstanding voltage, an optimized internal electrode structure allows guaranteed ratings to be given for customary dc voltages as well as ac voltages. Two versions are available: the C3216 with a capacitance range from 1.0 to 15.0 nF, and the C3225 with a capacitance value of 22.0 nF. Operating temperature ranges from -55 to +125°C, and capacitance tolerance comes in at ±15%. Applications include dc-dc and ac-dc converters, as well as noise filters that require superior ac strength.
