Fashioned for handheld wireless products, the NanoAnt antenna offers designers a very small antenna with high-end performance. The component operates from 1.575 to 6 GHz and does not require a ground connection. It consists of a metal radiating element, insert molded into a high-temperature support structure supported by two legs. One leg performs as a radio-frequency feed and the other is for mechanical attachment. Various matching circuits are available from Centurion and are application dependent. The NanoAnt is available in two sizes, 10 mm x 3 mm x 4 mm for GPS, WLAN, and public safety, and 2.5 mm x 2 mm x 2 mm for Bluetooth applications.
