Offered as alternatives to batteries, power versions of the BOOSTCAP D-cell ultracapacitor provide backup power to avoid malfunctions caused by voltage sags. The 310F flashlight-battery size BCAP0310 P250 cell and 6-cell, 15-V packs and modules also target industrial applications. Other BOOSTCAPs include cells ranging in capacitance from 650F to 2,600F and 10 integrated modules. All cells with a capacitance of 650F or greater operate at 2.7V. Multi-cell modules for automotive applications are encased in rugged, splash-proof aluminum chassis and include internal-cell and module-to-module balancing.
