Assuming title as the market's smallest multilayer ceramic capacitors (MLCCs), nine models in the WK series employ reverse-geometry terminations and other design improvements to boost performance in relation to component size. Maximum capacitance values include 0.47 µF, 4.7 µF, and 10 µF in 0402, 0603, and 0805 case sizes, respectively. These ratings represent an almost two-fold performance improvement over the company's existing MLCCs of equal size. The capacitors are also said to be the industry’s smallest low-ESL devices and offer the highest-capacitance values for both 0603 and 0805 sizes. Available voltage ratings are 4V (0402 and 0603), 6.3V (060 and 0805), and 16V (0805). Prices range from $0.15 to $0.30 each in volume. TAIYO YUDEN USA INC., Schaumburg, IL. (847) 925-0888.
