Replacing lead-based varistors, the DV and PV series surface-mount, lead-free varistors employ ceramic and polymer-plastic packaging, respectively. The DV series chip-style components handle voltages from 11 to 300 VRMS with peak-current ratings of 100A, 250A, 400A, and 1.2 kA for 8/20 ms. Operating temperature range is -55°C to +125°C. The PV series offers the same specifications with the exception of their operating temperature range from -40°C to +85°C. Both series are capable of clamping voltages from 50 to 385 Vdc and are available in standard 3225 and 4032 package sizes. Pricing is approximately $0.22 each/5,000.
