The size advantage of ceramic CK05 capacitors, but with none of their inherent negative characteristics, is said to be enjoyed by users of Type ECR metalized polycarbonate capacitors. The subminiature caps offer ±1% tolerance and electrical properties that meet MIL-PRF-55514/8 (CFR12/CFR26) standards. Other features include self-healing properties and an absence of piezoelectric effects that can be exhibited by ceramics. In addition, the film caps are not frequency- or voltage-sensitive and offer an average service life of 20 years. Values range from 0.001 µF to 1 µF in voltages of 50V, 75V, 100V, 150V, 200V or 250V.
