Ceramic Chip Capacitors Offer SMT Alternative To Film Caps In Auto Apps

The Vitramon Cer-F series of multilayer ceramic chip capacitors provides designers with a space-saving, surface-mount alternative to film capacitors. The series is claimed as the first ceramic dielectric available to effectively mimic the electrical characteristics of film caps in high-frequency filtering applications. The caps are offered in five case types--0603, 0805, 1206, 1210 and 1812--with capacitance ratings from 470 pF to 1 million pF.
