Designed for high-frequency filtering applications, the CF Series of surface-mount MLCCs (multilayer ceramic chip capacitors) is said to be a less expensive, smaller and more reliable alternative to SMT plastic film capacitors for designers of consumer audio equipment and PLL mobile phone circuits. Currently available in 0603 (1, 1.5, 2.2, 3.3 nF), 0805 (4.7, 6.8, 10, 22 nF) and 1206 (47, 100 nF) case sizes rated at 25V, the CF Series boasts of a breakdown voltage of 780V. And in addition to employing the companyÕs high-precision multilayering techniques, the CF SeriesÕ dielectric material is composed of a cubic CAZrO3 molecular structure that achieves higher capacitance values than typical Class 1 temperature compensating capacitors, while offering superior temperature stability and lower equivalent series resistance (ESR) than tetragonal BaTiO3 based devices. Cost reduction and reliability are enhanced by use of base metal (nickel) throughout for both the internal and external electrodes. Pricing is from $0.08 each/100,000.
