The new Type CMT multilayer ceramic chip capacitor is designed for the computer, telecommunications, contract manufacturing, industrial and automotive markets. Specifically engineered for filtering in telephone line tip-and-ring applications, the component is said to be an ideal replacement for larger, leaded-film capacitors in a broad array of communications systems and networks. The Type CMT comes in seven EIA sizes ranging from 0805 to 225, in X7R or Z5U dielectrics, and capacitance ratings ranging from .001 to 1.2 µF. Capacitance tolerances include ±5%, ±10% and ±20% for the X7R components, and ±20% for the Z5U parts. Five standard voltage ratings range from 200 to 600 Vdc. Pricing starts at $0.05 each/10,000.
