The newly launched DC2KV GR4 series capacitors incorporate base metal inner electrodes (BMEs). These high-voltage chip capacitors remove electromagnetic interference (EMI) and meet the IEEE802.3 standard, which mandates an electrical isolation of 1,500 Vac and/or 2,250 Vdc for 60 seconds. The new series has a capacitance range of 100 to 2,220 pF and achieves stable performance because of its X7R characteristic, in which temperature dependency (fluctuation ratio) of the capacitance is ±15% over a range of -55ºC to 125ºC. The surface-mountable caps require less mounting space than conventional lead-type capacitors, a useful feature for network devices such as LANs and telecommunications switches and routers. Customers can choose from two sizes: 4.5 mm x 2 mm x 2 mm and 4.5 mm x 3.2 mm x 2 mm. Pricing starts at $0.15 each/100,000. MURATA ELECTRONICS INC., Smyrna, GA. (770) 436-1300.
