Residing in an 8-lead MSOP or TDFN package, the ISL95810 single, digitally controlled potentiometer (DCP) measures 3 mm x 3 mm and provides 256 taps, non-volatile memory, and a serial interface. Deployable as a 3-terminal potentiometer or a 2-terminal variable resistor, the component employs a unique architecture that integrates a DCP on a monolithic CMOS IC. Parameters include a total resistance of 10 kO or 50 kO, typical wiper resistance of 70O at 3.3V, operating voltages from 2.7V to 5.5V, maximum standby current of 5 µA, an endurance of 200,000 data changes per bit, and a register-data retention of 50 years at a maximum temperature of 75°C. Available with a standard lead finish or lead free, price is $1.02 each/10,000. INTERSIL CORP., Palm Bay, FL. (888) 468-3774.
