Addressing the requirements of transformers and dc/dc converters operating at frequencies from 400 kHz to 1 MHz, P51 soft ferrite material expands the company's line of manganese-zinc materials. Compared to P5 for 500 kHz applications, the P51 material reports a 50% reduction in core-loss characteristics at higher temperatures. It exhibits an initial permeability of 1,500 ±25% at 10 kHz, 0.1 mT (25°C). Other specs include flux densities from 490 mT at 25°C to 400 mT at 100°C and core-loss characteristics of 80 kW/m3 at 400 kHz, 50 mT to 600 kW/m3 at 1 MHz 50 mT, also at 100°C. The material is available in standard and custom shapes including ER, ERI, PEI, PEE, RM, and POT/CUT cores. ACME MAGNETICS USA INC., Vista, CA. (760) 727-2530.
