Upon approval to EN 140401 802 Version A and Version E, Vishay Intertechnology released a pair of thick-film chip resistors—one that’s lead-free (the CRCWxxxxEN802) and a lead-bearing variety (the DxxEN802). Version A meets the needs of industrial electronics, while Version E targets military, avionics, and space applications. Version E devices feature established reliability with an assessed failure rate level of E6. The CRCWxxxxEN802 offers pure tin termination plating on a nickel barrier. It complies with the RoHS Directive 2002/95/EC, and is compatible with lead-free and lead-containing soldering processes. The DxxEN802 resistor features tin-lead termination plating on a nickel barrier (10% minimum lead content). It’s optimized for customers depending on matured technologies, including a purely lead-bearing assembly process. Both come in 0805 and 1206 case sizes.
