Aluminum Caps Rely On Polymer Electrolytics

June 30, 2010
With a capacitance range from 1.7 to 1,000 µF and in voltages from 6.3 to 100 Vdc, the MXCP series conductive polymer aluminum electrolytic capacitors includes the SMD Types MXCPA, MXCPH, and MXCPP.

With a capacitance range from 1.7 to 1,000 µF and in voltages from 6.3 to 100 Vdc, the MXCP series conductive polymer aluminum electrolytic capacitors includes the SMD Types MXCPA, MXCPH, and MXCPP.  By replacing the liquid electrolyte with solid polymer material, the capacitors are said to be highly stable when exposed to temperature fluctuations and boast very low ESR values and high ripple current ratings. Capacitors in the series are available for wide temperature ranges from -55°C to +105°C and from -55°C to +125°C.  Versions with load life ratings to 5,000 or 10,000 hours are also available. Offered in five case sizes ranging from 6.3 mm x 6.0 mm to 10 mm x 12.5 mm, the MXCP capacitors are coated with epoxy resin for better heat, humidity, and solvent resistance. Pricing ranges from approximately $0.199 to $0.899 each/5,000. TECATE INDUSTRIES, San Diego, CA. (619) 398-9750.
