The Paragon Embedded Telemetry System (PETs), a hardware and software reference platform, aims to speed the design of remote controlled devices. The software portion of the system is said to be the embedded industry’s first proprietary software to operate via multiple carriers and radio spectrums. This is achieved through a telemetry abstraction layer (TAL), described as a proprietary software interface that automatically determines the system’s radio and network connection. It then adapts the target device for optimal performance. The system is both radio and carrier agnostic, operating on CDMA, PDMA and reflex paging to allow for a range of choices when negotiating potential data carrier services.
