Micrium has ported its uC/OS-II real-time operating system (RTOS) and uC/OSView on NXP's LCP3180 family of ARM9 processors. The uC/OS-II is the first RTOS to support NXP's Vector Floating Point (VFP) unit, which combines high performance with low power dissipation, according to the company. In addition, Micrium has ported its uC/OS-II, uC/OS-View, uC/USB, and uC/TCP-IP to multiple ARM7 series, including the LPC214x, LPC2888, LPC23xx, and LPC24xx. Ports of Micrium's embedded components available for NXP processors can be found on the Micrium website at www.micrium.com/nxp/.
The uC/OS-II is a highly portable, ROMable, scalable, preemptive, real-time, multitasking kernel. It is written in ANSI C and complies with the RTCA DO-178B standard for software used in avionics equipment. The uC/TCP-IP is a compact, reliable, high-performance TCP/IP protocol stack. Built from the ground up to be both scalable and highly reliable, uC/TCP-IP enables the rapid configuration of required network options to minimize time-to-market. uC/OS-View allows developers to view a number of performance metrics from a product based on uC/OS-II, and uC/USB allows them to quickly and painlessly develop software for an embedded device to communicate with a PC via USB.
Micrium offers time-limited trials of its RTOS and TCP/IP stack so product developers can check out the software's performance before making a financial commitment.
